Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl invited us to share ten summery book covers this week, a topic suggested by Ellie at Curiosity Killed the Bookworm. That seems self-explanatory, so let’s get started!

Mermaids in the Basement by Michael Lee West

Bound South by Susan Rebecca White

Fireworks over Toccoa by Jeffrey Stepakoff

Between, Georgia by Joshilyn Jackson

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen

Fatima’s Great Outdoors by Ambreen Tariq, illustrated by Stevie Lewis

Drawing Down the Moon by Charles Vess

The Outer Banks House by Diann Ducharme

Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews

The Big Beautiful by Pamela Duncan

I was surprised that I didn’t have more beachy covers. I try to choose these lists from books I’ve actually reviewed on here, so maybe I just don’t review those for some unconscious reason? Or maybe I just don’t read that many. I guess it does make sense that I lean more toward green trees, fields, and lightning bugs since I’m a mountain girl.

That’s my list! Have you read any of these? Which books did/would you choose? Link up every Tuesday at That Artsy Reader Girl!

  1. The Outer Banks evokes memories for me, of times in northern California beaches as well as those on the Atlantic. So different from southern California beach approaches.

  2. Charles Vess’s art for the summer? That’s a great idea, I had no idea about Drawing Down the Moon. The Outer Banks House looks pretty great too, if it is historical fiction, I want to check it out. And Sarah Addison Allen is an old old favorite! Great picks.
