Weekly Update

It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?  is hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books. Finished and Reviewed:Cybele's Secret by Juliet MarillierThe Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafón Currently Reading:Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde Up Next: Again, I'm not sure.  I recently checked a stack of "new" young adult books out from the library, so probably one of those.  I have Ash by Malinda Lo, Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, The Fetch by Laura Whitcomb, and Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.  My sister also just loaned me Storm Front by Jim Butcher.  I have wanted to read it for a while, so that's calling my name pretty loudly.  We'll see.  I'm supposed to have jury duty on Wednesday (UGH!), so I'm not sure if that will be good for the reading time or bad.  Here's hoping that I find out I don't even have to go. What are you reading this week?

Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books wants to know what we're reading this week. I posted my review of World Without End last week. I finished and reviewed Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garci and Margaret Stohl. I loved it! I finished Persuasion by Jane Austen. My review isn't up yet, but I loved this one too! I'm currently reading Between, Georgia by Joshilyn Jackson. I'll probably get to Life of Pi by Yann Martel next. A co-worker loaned it to me and I need to return it. What are you reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is now hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books. Finished: World Without End by Ken Follett. Finally! Review to come. It was pretty good, but a little too similar to Pillars of the Earth. Currently Reading: Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl--Thanks to Teddyree at The Eclectic Reader for sending this one my way! Up Next: Persuasion by Jane Austen--I think Misty might come find me if I don't get to this one next! :-) Nothing too exciting here this past week, I'm just glad to be finished with that chunkster! What are you reading this week?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading has been taken over by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books. It looks like she's got some new tricks up her sleeve, so go check her out! Finished:  Link to my review Soulless by Gail Carriger--Loved it! 5 stars! Currently Reading:  Remaining links will go to GoodReads descriptions World Without End by Ken Follett--I'm enjoying it, but it feels awfully similar to his earlier book, The Pillars of the Earth Up Next: World Without End is a monster, so I'm not sure if there will be time for another book this week!  I'm about halfway through the 1014 pages.   If I have time, I might pick up Lirael: Daughter of the Clayr for one of my GoodReads groups. Or I might read Persuasion, which I've never read, but it's waiting patiently for me right here at home. What are you reading this week?

What Are You Reading Monday is hosted by J. Kaye's Book Blog. Finished (Links to my reviews) Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane--Oh my gosh, how twisty! 4 stars Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale--What a fantastic retold fairy tale! 5 stars Venom by Joan Brady--A thriller with characters I couldn't like. 2.5 stars Currently Reading (Remaining links to GoodReads descriptions) Soulless by Gail Carriger Up Next: I've been so excited to get started on Soulless that I haven't even thought that far ahead! If I'm feeling particularly ambitious, I might get started on Ken Follett's World Without End, the sort-of sequel to Pillars of the Earth. I might take the shorter route and read Daughter of My People by James Kilgo instead. We'll see. Right now, I'm really enjoying Soulless though! What are you reading this week?

It's a group read this month for my YA book group on GoodReads, and I'm running out of month to read it in! Last week, I finished: The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore and The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson--Highly, highly recommended I'm currently working on Sent by Margaret Peterson Haddix Up next: Probably Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani, but that might change.  Hopefully I'll get to more, but I have to train someone at work this week, so I probably won't have as much time for reading as I usually do. I should have started this meme, hosted by J. Kaye, last week, when I read so many books while the power was out.  This week I've been trying to catch up with blog stuff and on GoodReads, and then there was Christmas, so I haven't gotten much read. Finished: Madapple by Christina Meldrum (review up tonight, hopefully) The Bright Forever by Lee Martin Upcoming: Under the Dome by Stephen King--if I can wake up in time to get to the library before they close.  What can I say?  I'm a night-shifter.
