Welcome to my weekly update for September 19, 2021!
We didn’t do much after my sister left last weekend but we drove up to Fairbanks for this weekend (more about that next week). The fog had Anchorage socked in when we left but as we drove further north, the air became crystal clear. We had spectacular views of Denali and the fall color!

Nothing. I can’t even begin to guess the last time that happened. But I’ve got a couple of dense printed books on the go and I downloaded my audiobook fairly late in the week.
Currently Reading:
The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, translated by Magda Bogin
The Snake, the Crocodile, and the Dog (Amelia Peabody #7) by Elizabeth Peters, read by Barbara Rosenblat
Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family by Robert Kolker
Up Next:
At this rate, who knows? I would like to read a couple more banned books for next week though.

I read very little this past week, too. I guess it was just time for a break.
Gorgeous picture! Enjoy your travels and your reading!
Don’t worry about a week of no reading. I’ve hardly read anything over the summer at all and it does sound like this past week you had some wonderful other things you did, like traveling way up north. I’ve never read any of the Amelia Peabody books, but would love to listen to them on audiobook too. Have a great week!
I really look forward to your scenic photos each Monday!
Wishing you a great reading week
I’m working on rereading the Amelia Peabody on audiobook now too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
I am curious about Hidden Valley Road. Enjoy your week and your books, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Beautiful picture!!
I do love listening to Barbara Rosenblat narrating the Amelia Peabody books. So great!
Ah Alaska is so beautiful. So wonderful to live amongst it. Enjoy your books.
Oh my goodness, that photo of Denali is gorgeous! I’m hoping we can go to Alaska after this pandemic is finally over. Sigh…
What a gorgeous picture! So glad the fog cleared out so you had amazing views.
Wow!! Aren’t you lucky to spot Denali! That photograph is outstanding!
We’re getting packed up and ready to head out in the RV tomorrow morning. Just heading up the coast to Nehalem for a few days, then home for a few before heading south to Santa Rosa. Not our usual 1-2 month fall road trip, but it’ll have to do. Meanwhile, I’m busy watching YouTube vlogs about Alaska. 🙂 Gone with The Wynns is currently on my playlist and it’s fun to see where we might go. The videos are from 2015 (they now live on a boat instead of in an RV), but the info is still helpful.
My niece lives in Anchorage, and I love that scenery! House of Spirits was a real reading treat for me. I hope you find it as wonderful as I did.
Oh that picture is stunning!!!!
I’m interested to see what you think of Hidden Valley Road. You are correct, your reading this week is definitely heavy stuff!
This passed term, I had more than one week where I read nothing! It was a horrible week. School closes on Wednesday and yes, I do plan on catching up with my reading as much as possible!
Love that photo you shared and I’m glad you had a good time with your sister.
Have a good week and good luck with getting some reading done!

What a beautiful pic. Alaska really does look amazing. We were just talking about Alaska this week and how we need to get there to visit someday…
Hope you have an amazing weekend!
It’s wonderful you are getting to see so many parts of the country but I’d be a little afraid to be out so much. I love the Elizabeth Peters books. Enjoy!
