I am curious about A Deadly Education and look forward to your thoughts. Have an awesome week!
I’ve got my review for A Deadly Education scheduled for next week!
I loved HOUNDED on audio! I really need to get back and finish that series. I got started on Kevin Hearne’s other one that he did with Delilah S. Dawson instead. I never got into The Dresden Files for some reason. I had expected to love that book, as urban fantasy is my favorite kind of fantasy, usually.
Everyone keeps recommending Hounded on audio! I’m coincidentally listening to No Country for Old Gnomes, the second book in the series with Delilah Dawson, and it’s also narrated by Luke Daniels. If I like the Iron Druid series, I’ll be sure to continue on audio.
I’m surprised you didn’t care for The Dresden Files if you like urban fantasy, but not every book is for every reader! I even liked the short-lived TV show based on The Dresden Files that SyFy put out a while ago.
I hope you enjoy Hounded! I enjoyed Luke Daniels’ narration on the audio version a lot, though there were times the MC in that series bugged me enough that I considered quitting the series. (I didn’t. I ended up finishing the series entirely in audio.) However, the first couple of books in that series were some of my favorite urban fantasy books! And Oberon (the dog) is a great character.
I’m coincidentally listening to the second book in the series that Hearne did with Delilah Dawson and it’s also narrated by Luke Daniels. I enjoy his reading a lot. I’m only a few chapters into Hounded but I’m already loving Oberon.
Luke Daniels is one of my favorite audiobook narrators!
My brother is rereading that series by Kevin Hearne. I’ve only read the first couple since he absconded with my copies before I got around to them. Now, I’ll rebuy them on Kindle if I want to read them. They really aren’t all the similar to the Dresden files. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
My sister tends to walk away with my books too. I periodically go to her house and take back all the books that are mine! Some things never change.
True or False looks good. Enjoy your week and your books, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
It seems like a timely topic.
The Iron Druid Chronicles is a favourite of mine, I hope you love Hounded!
Wishing you a great reading week
Hounded is off to a good start!
Oh yes, spotting fake news is something I should read. A skill we all need. Enjoy your reading this week.
I agree that we all need help in identifying fake news.
The Unidentified looks quite good! Hope you have a fantastic week ahead!
Thanks!
I’m looking forward to your review of A Deadly Education. It’s a book I’ve been eyeing.
Loved your book pairings for Nonfiction November. Where will you go for Be the Expert? I enjoy Nonfiction November so much.
Hope you like True or False. All of us in America seem to need more education in distinguishing truth from falsehood, I think.
I agree that we as Americans need help in distinguishing fake news from real news. Unfortunately, the people who probably need the most help are the ones who don’t really read much.
I love the Dresden files and I also enjoyed A Deadly Education. I have listened to Hounded. I wouldn’t say it reminds me of Dreden files at all and Luke Daniels is amazing on the audio. Enjoy your new reads and stay well!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I coincidentally downloaded Luke Daniels reading No Country for Old Gnomes, a book Kevin Hearne wrote with Delilah S. Dawson. I really like his narration. I think I’m going to enjoy Hounded so I’ll be sure to continue it on audio.
I’m not the biggest Ray Bradbury fan. Just struggle to get his writing style.
You have a lovely diverse set of books to showcase. That will make any week great!
Hope you enjoy a wonderful week.
The Sunday Post #18
I’ve decided that I’m not a big Bradbury fan either. I struggled with this short story collection. Some stories were pretty good but most weren’t to my taste.
Such a great diversity of books in this post! I’ll have to try to check our your reviews this week.
I get bored if I read too many of the same types of books so I do try to keep my selections diverse!
I hope you enjoyed A Deadly Education and The Last Astronaut – they were both very different reads, but I loved them both. Take care and have a great reading week, Jen:)
I hope you enjoyed your books and had a wonderful week! You read such a variety of books, I always opt for romance and an HEA! LOL
I go through phases – I used to read a lot more romance than I do now… There’s nothing better than curling up with a love story, if you’re in the mood:)).
I’ve just nipped across to your blog – it’s lovely:)). I’ll be responding via Twitter as sadly, I have a problem getting a number of blogger accounts to accept my comments! But it doesn’t mean I’m not visiting:)).
I prefer HEAs even if I’m not necessarily reading something romantic!
They were certainly very different. I preferred The Last Astronaut to A Deadly Education but I am curious to see where A Deadly Education goes in future books.
That was one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of A Deadly Education! And The Last Astronaut was a really effective thriller, I thought…
