Weekly Update at Introverted Reader

Welcome to my weekly update for February 2, 2025!

My husband had a long weekend off from work on January 17 so we drove up to Page, Arizona for a few days. You might not be familiar with the town itself, but you’re sure to recognize two iconic places nearby: Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. They were indescribable! We were also able to visit the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell while we were there. We would have liked to do several more things but they either required an off-road vehicle, winning an entrance ticket in a lottery, and/or more daylight than we had available. We’d like to visit again when we have more time.

Slideshow:

  • A narrow red rock canyon has been carved into otherworldly shapes by wind and rain
  • The Colorado River makes a horseshoe-shaped turn at the bottom of Glen Canyon
  • The blue waters of Lake Powell lie below with red rock formations and desert beyond
  • A large concrete dam blocks one end of a large red rock canyon

  1. Upper Antelope Canyon. You can only visit as part of a guided tour. Photos of this magical place with beams of sunlight piercing down to the canyon floor seem to be everywhere. Those photos are only possible in the summer when the sun is more directly overhead.

  1. You sure fit in a lot of reading. Looked at your review about I Think You’re Wrong but I am Listening. Interesting, so hard where ever you live to talk politics these days or any days. Love your photos of your visit. Love seeing them.
