Top Ten Tuesday

Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl invited us to share ten travel books this week. I’ve written about Books That Awaken My Travel Bug in the past so I’m posting a topic I missed instead–ten debut novels I enjoyed. I’ve tried to mostly choose books that are older or a little off the radar. I rated all of these five stars. Links go to my review if I’ve written one or to Bookshop.

  1. Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) by Kristin Cashore (Review)
  2. The Goose Girl (The Books of Bayern #1) by Shannon Hale (Review)
  3. Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters #1) by Juliet Marillier
  4. City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy #1) by S. A. Chakraborty
  5. The Golem and the Jinni (The Golem and the Jinni #1) by Helene Wecker (Review)
  6. Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1) by Gail Carriger (Review)
  7. The Eyre Affair by (Thursday Next #1) Jasper Fforde
  8. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (Review)
  9. The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (Pink Carnation #1) by Lauren Willig
  10. She-Rain by Michael Cogdill (Review)

That’s my list! Have you read any of these? Which books did/would you choose? Link up every Tuesday at That Artsy Reader Girl!

    1. I love all of the Parasol books! I think Soulless is my very favorite but they’re all good. Well, I am missing a couple of the novella spinoffs but I think I’m close enough to speak confidently about all of them 🙂

    1. I thought I had read all of them but I just checked and I’ve only read the first five. I’ll have to finish up the last three. The first one was my favorite, if I recall correctly. The world Fforde created in this series was so fun!
