Weekly Update at Introverted Reader

Welcome to my weekly update for January 25, 2016!

I hope those of you affected by winter storm Jonas made it through in good shape! We got about 6″ off of it, which is a pretty good amount for us. The office was closed on Friday so I was able to stay home and read and watch the snow come down. Those are snowy days I don’t mind!

Posted:

The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths–3.5 Stars

Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, read by Anna Fields–4 Stars

Review Link-Up page for my New (to you) Narrator Challenge

Read:

The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly

Winter by Marissa Meyer, read by Rebecca Soler

Currently Reading:

Orphan X by Greg Hurwitz

Shotgun Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler, read by Ari Fliakos, Maggie Hoffman, Scott Shepherd, Scott Sowers, and Gary Wilmes

Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne

Up Next:

I need to finish Journey so I can move on to some non-fiction. Somehow I chose it as my before-bed reading instead of my usual non-fiction and now I’m stalled out on it.

What are you reading this week?

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

  1. Glad you got to stay home and enjoy the snow. We didn't get any snow here for which I am very thankful!

I loved Winter and am on the wait list for the audio version which I hope to listen to later this year. I want to read that Jennifer Donnelly series too. Have a great week!

  2. I love reading in the rain, which we have had all week, so I can imagine how it would be tucked away watching the snow fall…and reading.

Enjoy your books…I'm curious about Orphan X.

  3. The Tea Rose looks good and I want to read the Lunar Chronicles, if I can ever get to it-LOL, nice week for you!! thebestbasicblogger.blogspot.com/2016/01/its-mondaywhat-are-you-reading7.html

  4. Wow that is quite a bit of snow! And you are right, snow is best enjoyed from indoors, with a book and a warm beverage. 🙂

I enjoyed Shotgun Lovesongs, but wasn't a fan of his newest book. I can go either way with that author. 🙂 Stay warm!

  5. Would love to sit inside and watch the snow and read all day. Will let you know about the kitchen! It's been a hard day's work, so if the results are good then that is good. I was going to do a big renovation then decided to just paint.

  6. Snow days are good! I remember hearing good things about shotgun Lovesongs- hope it's good- and while I love the old Journey to the Center of the Earth movie, I'm not sure if i would enjoy the book. It's hard to finish a book sometimes if it's dragging…

  7. Glad you are staying warm 🙂

Have a great reading week, I liked Shotgun Love Songs
