Weekly Update at Introverted Reader

Welcome to my weekly update for January 18, 2016!

I’ve dropped off for a couple of weeks again, but there hasn’t been too much to report on the book front anyway. It was my turn to download a brick of an audiobook that I’ve been waiting for at the library just after I started reading a brick of a “real” book. I don’t seem to be making fast progress on either front.

In real life, we celebrated my grandfather’s 97th birthday today! Happy birthday, Papaw!

Posted:

Not much in the past two weeks. Just the review link-up posts for the 2016 Nonfiction Reading Challenge, 2016 Southern Literature Reading Challenge, and 2016 Books in Translation Reading Challenge. I’ll get the review link-up for my 2016 New (to you) Narrator Reading Challenge posted this week. There’s still plenty of time to sign up for any of these challenges as they run all year!

Read:

The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths, read by James Langton

Currently Reading:

The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly

Winter by Marissa Meyer, read by Rebecca Soler

Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne

Up Next:

As I said earlier, I’m not making fast progress on any of these. Just wish me luck finishing Winter. I only have 6 days to finish the last 6 parts and I usually only manage about an hour of listening each day. I’ll be close and I can’t renew my checkout if others are waiting, as I know they are!

What are you reading this week?

Hosts:

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

  2. Happy birthday to your grandfather! 97- wow! That's awesome.

Journey to the Center of the Earth- how fun. I loved the old movie version, don't think I've read the book though. If you review it I'd be curious of your thoughts.

  3. A Happy Belated Birthday to your grandfather. My Goong Goong is around that age. I've read The Tea Rose in the past; it's a good one. Another Meyer's fan; the intrigue for her series grows in my corner.

  4. Oh, I need to remember to add Winter too my list. I read Cinder and Scarlet. Not my usual genre, but I really liked them. And The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly has been one I have wanted to read since I read A Northern Light. I better spend less time here on my computer and more time with my books. "giggle"

  5. The Zig Zag Girl has such an interesting cover. I have a book from the author called The Crossing Places. In checking out Zig Zag Girl, I see that it is part of a new series. Sounds good!

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. I've heard many positive things about Winter – I just finished reading Cinder – and I am hoping that I get to finish all the books in the series this year.

  7. Yikes so hard when its a library book and its a brick and you are trying to finish it. Best of luck with that!

  8. I'm always impressed by people who can read several books at once. The only time I've been able to do it is when I've had a non-fiction book or something and have had to force myself to get through chapters pretty slowly!

Hopefully you'll get through this batch soon!

  9. I'm reading the Lunar Chronicles series now. Just started the 2nd book. Don't know why I wait so long to read them.
