Review of The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Passing by Samaria by Sharon Ewell Foster
The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason
The Odyssey, adapted by Gareth Hinds
84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff
Blameless by Gail Carriger
Ballad of the Whiskey Robber: A True Story of Bank Heists, Ice Hockey, Transylvanian Pelt Smuggling, Moonlighting Detectives, and Broken Hearts by Julian Rubinstein
Curse of the Blue Tattoo: Being an Account of the Misadventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman and Fine Lady by L. A. Meyer, read by Katherine Kellgren (I had to try the audio after Sheila’s recommendation!)
I temporarily stopped listening to When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris because I will be going to the Decatur Book Festival this coming weekend and I thought my husband might enjoy listening to it with me on the drive. I’m thinking The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende will be my next print read.
I’ll be attending the Decatur Book Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Is anyone else going? I went last year and had a great time! I saw The Help on Sunday and loved it! I’ll try to get a review up this week.
What are you reading this week?

How are you liking Gail Carriger's series?
Here's my "Monday" post.
I'm absolutely in the same boat, every Oprah book I've tried has been a horrible failure. Top that with the fact that my hubby read The Poisonwood Bible for a college class and hated it, and I'm not going to be reading it any time soon. Good to see though that you had a good reading week otherwise!
Have a fabulous reading week and thanks for stopping by earlier! :o)
Love the cover of passing by Samaria. Enjoy.
I remember watching the BBC version of 84 Charing Cross Road and loving it!
YAY about the blue tattoo! SO glad you are getting into my addiction… I mean ummm… fav audios! 🙂
You are doing good!!!
I am still in a reading vacuum!!
Here is my Monday: Mailbox/What Are You Reading?/Musings post!
Yup! Definitely will be coming back here to read your review of Blameless! 🙂
Great looking books! 84 Charing Cross Road is one I've been wanting to read.
I saw The Help for the second time on Saturday (this time with my granddaughter), and we both cried and laughed.
Isn't it great?
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
Lots of great books! When You Are Engulfed in Flames is hilarious and a great audio choice. Enjoy!
I have always wanted to read House of Spirits, I will be looking forward to your review! I also want to read Curse of the Blue Tattoo.
Have a great week!
84 Charing Cross Road – loved the book. Such description and so very warm!
Great selection of books! Even with homework, I did manage to meet last week's reading goals. Please come see what I finished and what I'm reading now.
I've heard good things about 84 Charing Cross Road, did you enjoy it? Can't wait to see the movie The Help, hopefully this week!
Have a great week and happy reading 🙂
I haven't read the Poisonwood Bible but I have come to the same conclusion as you, most Oprah books have not appealed to me.
