Hopefully I’ll finish The Awakening in time to post a review for Banned Books Week this week. If I do, I’ll pick up Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrlees again. It got put on hold so I could read enough banned books to get me through this week.

  1. I have too many review books on my stack to set them aside for banned books. I have read quite a few banned books over the years including Blubber. Happy reading!

  2. I hope you enjoy your reads this week! All the reads you mentioned are new to me.

  3. Hope you enjoy The Innocent. It is the only one of your list that I have "read". My husband and I listen to audio books together, and Baldacci is one of our favorite authors.

  4. I still need to read the Riordan series- maybe with it coming to a close I can get to it and read them all here at some point. The Mark of Athena sounds fun- and it sounds like there's a lot going on in it too. Have a nice week.

  5. I just loved The Mark of Athena. I'm so excited for the last book in October! Blubber was great too. I remember reading that when I was young and my students still love it today.

  6. Ha I am reading Blubber for Banned Books week too!! You have a lot of good books lined up for this week! I will have to check back for your posts. 🙂

  7. My opinion of Buddha in the Attic in print was similar to your on audio. Carrington McDuffie's voice seems perfect for that story. I'd like to reread The Awakening this week for Banned Books Week.

  8. YAY for Banned book Week! Awesome you are reading Blubber… I should read that one… it has been years!

  9. I kind of forgot about Banned Books Week till our teen librarian put up our display on Friday. For some reason I thought it was in October. I can't remember if I read Blubber when I was a teen. I know I read Are You There God, It's Me Margaret, Deenie and Forever.

I loved The Mark of Athena and liked The House of Hades. I can't wait to get my hands on The Blood of Olympus.

  10. I was considering reading Fun Home this week for Banned Books Week. I hope you liked it. I read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian instead. Have a great week!

  11. Ron Mclarty and Orlagh Cassidy do such a great job with Baldacci's books. I plan to look through my library of children's books and see how many of banned/challenged books I have and read 'em. Have a great week.
