It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? hosted at Book Journey

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Whew! I just got back from vacation yesterday. We were fortunate to spend a week and a half in Hawaii for our 10th anniversary. We went on our honeymoon and decided to go back for this milestone. We went to the Big Island for the first time and we re-visited Kauai. We both thought that Kauai could not be as gorgeous as we remembered it being but it’s actually even better. It’s truly paradise.

We left perfect weather and arrived home to snow on the ground! We occasionally get flurries this early, maybe even up to 1″ but apparently we got something like 4-5″ yesterday! Luckily the roads were too warm to get bad and it had mostly melted by the time we got home anyway. But still–I’m not ready for cold weather, especially not after our vacation!

With all that said, I didn’t get much done around here, but I did get a little reading done on the planes in between naps.

  2. Glad you had a great trip. Our 10 year anniversary was 10/4. Unfortunately we couldn't afford to go anywhere but we did have dinner out. 🙂 Here's my It's Monday! What are you Reading? post.

  3. Snow after Hawaii- that's just not right. 🙂 The Mysterious Howling looks good (like that title) and I've always been curious about the Artemis Fowl books.

  5. PS I read The Bloody Chamber earlier in the year for an Angela carter reading week.

I got totally sucked into her world – although obsessive, might be a more accurate choice of word!

  6. Oh your Hawai'i story has re-inspired me. Mr Books & I also honeymooned there 5 yrs ago (& I'm planning on returning for our 10th.)

We loved the Big Island and Mau'i, but didn't have time to fit in Kauai. I have it on the 10 yr plan though!
I read Moloka'i while we were there & would love to visit that island as well next time. Do you have any Hawaiian stories to recommend?

  7. I'm a huge Patricia C. Wrede fan. Her Enchanted Forest Chronicles series is excellent but I haven't read the one you mentioned yet. Hope you enjoy it!
