My book club pick for this month is The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I’m waiting for it to come in at the libary. I’ll be looking for a new audiobook this week as well.

In other news…

I purchased my ticket to see Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns when he comes to Asheville on June 14. I also pre-ordered his new book, And the Mountains Echoed. I’m so excited to see him! Huge, huge thanks to Malaprop’s for getting such an awesome author to stop by our relatively small town! If you’re anywhere nearby, be sure to come on out! You can find more information here. You can also find his full tour schedule on his website.

  1. Enjoy the author visit. I read I capture the Castle as part of my book club and enjoyed it. Cassandra was charming and endearing for a character but I kinda wanted to shake Topaz and Mr. Mortmain and tell them to grow up! I bet Asheville is gorgeous now, I live in NC as well and need to make another trip to Asheville. Haven't been in 3 years and we owe it another visit. My oldest really wants to see Biltmore.

  2. Hosseini was here in our town and the event was sold out! He is an amazing speaker, so I hope you enjoy!! Happy Reading!
