Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl invited us to share ten books with numbers in the title this week. That’s straightforward enough so let’s get started!
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich (Tempting as it was, I did decide not to list the first ten books in this numbered series!)
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Five on a Treasure Island by Enid Blyton
NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy by Jeanne Birdsall, read by Susan Denaker
The League of Seven by Alan Gratz
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan, read by Sneha Mathan
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, translated by Rod Bradbury, read by Steven Crossley
That’s my list! Have you read any of these? Which books with numbers in the title did/would you choose? Link up every Tuesday at That Artsy Reader Girl!

I did a twist on this theme, but I did think about doing 1-10 but had banned myself from using the Stephanie Plum books!
Catch-22 is on my list this week, too. I would like to try The Thirteenth Tale. Thanks for sharing.

The Thirteenth Tale was really good if you like Gothic books (which I do).
I’ve read THE THIRTEENTH TALE, but it was a long time ago and I really don’t remember anything about it. My memory is no bueno!
Happy TTT!

I remember that I loved it but I can’t recall any details!
I almost used Ready Player One- great pick!. and I love that Famous Five cover. Makes me want to go explore an old shipwreck… 🙂
I cut out One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest because I had too many “Ones” but I couldn’t bring myself to cut Ready Player One or One for the Dough.
:):)
This is a fun prompt. I immediately thought of the Stephanie Plum books. 🙂
Right? It’s almost impossible not to!
Nice list! I love The Penderwicks, and almost included it, but I decided to exclude books where the number was in the subtitle. I also stuck (mostly) to books I have not only read but loved (4 and 5 stars), and either reread or plan to reread. I did include a short list of books I want to read, and I wish I had remembered to put Ready Player One on that list!
Here’s my TTT for this week.
I mostly tried to avoid numbers in subtitles too but I love The Penderwicks so much, I let that book be the exception.
You haven’t read Ready Player One yet? I think you’ll love it!
I love the Penderwicks and when I was looking at my shelf didn’t notice the numbers in it! Have a great week. My link if you would like to stop by: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/09/top-ten-tuesday-numbers-in-title.html
If GoodReads didn’t automatically include subtitles on shelves, I would have overlooked it too.
Great list! I’ve read Catch-22, but didn’t include it in my list this week since I stuck to numbers 1-10. The 100-Year-Old Man sounds like a really interesting book!
The 100-Year-Old Man is wildly improbable but a lot of fun. He feels a bit like Forrest Gump as he recounts his life, stumbling into all these big moments in history.
It sounds amusing, at least!
I love the Plum novels! Great list today.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Stephanie Plum is great for a fun, mindless break!
A great list. I’ve read all of these except The Twentieth Wife and the Joe Hill book.
I know horror isn’t your thing so I won’t recommend the Joe Hill book but I really liked The Twentieth Wife.
You are right, Jen, about the horror, but I might like Twentieth Wife.
A great list! I enjoyed reading The 100-Hundred-Year-Old Man earlier this year.
When you get the time, I hope you can stop by and read my post: https://readbakecreate.com/books-counting-down-from-ten/
I thought The 100-Year-Old Man was a lot of fun!
Excellent picks! NOS4A2 and Famous Five were so good. And very good choice on not listing out the Janet Evanovich series, haha!
I wanted to keep the topic easy so I was *very* tempted but I thought visitors might not appreciate that approach! 😀
The Joe Hill one and The Thirteenth Tale is still on my TBR list. A few of these I’ve read and a few are new to me.
Happy TTT! Here’s my Here’s my 10 Agatha Christie books with numbers in the title
I loved both NOS4A2 and The Thirteenth Tale so I hope you like them when/if you get around to reading them.
I’m surprised that I haven’t seen Catch-22 on any other lists. My TTT post
I just saw it on the list at Long and Short Reviews. The Two Towers sure seems to be a popular choice this week though.
