A Bit of Me(me) is hosted every Saturday at There’s A Book. Every week, Danielle asks us a question that lets us get to know each other a little better.
This week’s question is:
What is one thing you are really NOT good at?
Oh, man, where do I start? 🙂
I’ll go with the first thing that comes to mind: singing. (My husband just looked over my shoulder and said I should have gone with “getting up on time.” That’s true too, but I’ve already written this post.)
Oh my gosh, I can’t sing to save my life. It’s odd because I’m really good with instruments (well, I was when I actually played them, but that hasn’t happened since high school), but I am tone-deaf when it comes to singing. I love to sing alone in my car, I love to irritate the heck out of my family by singing “Happy Birthday” to them as loudly and badly as possible (so badly it takes talent to be that bad, I promise you), but to actually sound good? Not happening. Even if you know what song I’m trying to sing, you still can’t recognize it. My husband and I both cringe when I have to attempt a “Humdinger” in the board game, Cranium. We both know he’s not guessing the name of any song I try to hum.
What’s something YOU are not good at? I shared mine! Be sure to stop by There’s A Book and see how other bloggers answered!

How funny! I'm thinking it really does take talent to sing very well and to sing very badly. People like me who are in between – well, it doesn't take much skill to be there 🙂
I'm with you on this one. I can't even sing in the shower because I can't stand listening to it lol.

Oh, that's hilarious! I love the photos and the stories…that reminds me of how I irritated my daughter in the mornings, when she was young, by singing "Good morning to you-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!" in a really loud and off-key voice. She said it was like nails on a chalk board.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
So funny, I have a friend that plays the guitar beautifully, but when she sings along, I want to put in ear plugs!
What a great thing to read in the morning. I know I'm a pretty bad singer, but I think the hubby beats me…by far. The boy just has no rhythm! Sometimes I wonder how I made it in to the chorus singing group when I was in middle school. I'll stick to lipsynching….
LOL….I never made the glee club in junior high…now that is pretty bad!
Me too! But, I sing all of the time anyway. It works particularly well in my classroom when the noise level goes up too much and I need my students' attention. They stop everything when I belt (or croak)out a song!
Love the pictures that you have to illustrate your lack of vocal abilities. My voice has been known to hurt the ears of my dogs too.
What a cool, fun post! So what if you can't sing? You can at least irritate your family, haha.;) Thanks for sharing!
This cracks me up! My mom has the same problem, it was always the running joke in my family that I played the flute and sang while my mom "played" the radio! LOL.
I love the not getting up on time problem too! I'm terrible at that. Especially now that my hubby gets up early to get ready with the kids ("his time") and I have basically an hour to myself in the morning. Sometimes I just can't get out of bed! :o) What can I say? It's all that staying up reading!
Thanks for participating! I LOVED your answer!
