I’m sure I’m behind as usual, but it’s time for the 2015 Books in Translation Reading Challenge signup! The goal is obviously to read translations of books, from any language into the language(s) you’re comfortable reading in; they don’t have to be in English.

You can read any genre and any age range. Crossovers with other challenges are fine. Any format that you choose is also acceptable. The challenge will run from January 1 through December 31, 2014.

Looking for suggestions? I have a shelf on GoodReads you can check out. There’s also a Listopia list on GoodReads. Linked reviews for the 2014, 2013, and 2012 challenges are a great resource.

I am not limiting the challenge to bloggers. You can also link to a review you wrote on another site, such as GoodReads or LibraryThing.

Levels:

Beginner: Read 1-3 books in translation
Conversationalist: 4-6
Bilingual: 7-9
Linguist: 10-12

I’m also posting a separate post for review links. I’ll keep a permanent link to both posts in my sidebar. That will be easier to keep track of which links are reviews and which are sign up posts.

I hope you’ll join me!  Sign up anytime throughout the year by linking below!

  1. Bonjour, my 1st time for this challenge, finally! Just to be sure I keep it up – I read actually 25 books in translation last year, and I translated 3 myself!

  2. I'm in! I'm signing up for the Conversationalist level. I already have 3 books on my list to read so I'm sure I can find at least one more. I'm determined to finish Anna Karenina this year. I've started to read it a couple of times in the past but never finished it.

  3. Hi! I'm signing up at Beginner level. hoping to read some Murakami this year, 🙂

  4. Just signed up. Great idea for a book challenge! Your Goodreads shelf was very useful, I was surprised the number of books I was already planning to read that were in fact translations.

  5. will try this again and maybe do better this year – have a few cross overs with other challenges – will come back to linky when better organized:)

  6. I'm ba-a-a-ck! :O) Trying to be better organized than 2014. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Jen!
